Every tutoring center provides its fundamental classes: homework help for elementary to high school students, AP classes, and SAT prep courses. Reading Club

To foster a passion for reading in children, registering for Book Club is the way to go. Tutors will assign books to children that are appropriate for their reading level, and go over important plot points and ensure that the student fully understands the concepts. A perk of this club is that when a student finishes a book, they will receive a certificate of completion. This will give them a sense of accomplishment that they deserve!

Current Events

Students in the Current Events course will develop a strong understanding of the political and economical sphere in the United States. In small groups, students are given an article and some comprehension questions pertaining to it. Afterward, the teacher facilitates a discussion with the class. Furthermore, there are big research projects for these students to complete. This is extremely important for a young student’s developing mind, and will explore different avenues to think critically. Additionally, these students will gain skills like public speaking and writing.

College Consulting Services

Though some tutoring services provide college consulting, Acclaim takes matters one step further. Our college consulting experts give their expertise on how to make each student shine for their individual talents. They will also outline extracurriculars and classes for each student to take depending on their personalities and interests. Compared to other learning centers, we have a very interactive process that is crafted specifically for the student.

Learn to Code

Acclaim offers coding classes to students of all levels! This is extremely beneficial, as this will introduce students to the fundamentals of computer science. These classes reinforce students to learn and get interested in STEM, which could wholly benefit their careers, as the tech industry is huge. Our tutors are very knowledgeable and know how to guide students through these complex concepts and simplify them.

Start using a planner.

Planners are extremely useful not only for students but also for most people in the working world. It is a wonderful way for one to organize their tasks and ensure that nothing will get forgotten! With a planner, notate the homework assignments and projects that must be completed, emphasizing their due dates. Additionally, jot down upcoming quizzes and tests so that you can prepare and study for those.

Get closer to your teachers.

Let your instructors know about the specific concepts you are struggling with, as they are there to help. Having a good relationship with your teachers is important, as they can become compassionate towards you and grade more leniently. Remember that all teachers were students once before, so they understand the difficulty of schoolwork.

Do some additional practice with the problems you struggle with.

The best way to improve your understanding of complex concepts is to practice and continually expose yourself to them. For example, try some math problems that were not assigned for homework so you can practice similar problems and master them by test day. This can be applied throughout all subjects, whether you balance various equations for chemistry, or analyze different passages in a book for English.
